DOCTRINE

  The word "doctrine" means teaching principles or beliefs held or taught.

 The more I travel, the more I become aware of the need for continued Biblical  preaching and  teaching of the fundamental beliefs of the church.

 Two of the major confessions which have been a part of our Baptist heritage are  the Philadelphia Confession issued in London, England in 1689 and the New  Hampshire Confession which had its origin in 1830.

 Many revisions of these original documents have been made, but much of the I ntent remains.  Time will not permit me to teach all, but I feel led to touch upon a  few.

THIS WE BELIEVE:

1 . We believe the Bible is God's Word.  It is the final authority for faith and practice.   It is written by divine inspiration and it is correct.     (11 Tim. 3:16-17;
 11 Peter 1:21)

2. We believe that salvation is wholly of grace apart from any meritorious work on  the part of man.     Eph. 2:8-10)

3. We believe in one God who is an infinite and intelligent Spirit who is worthy of all  possible honor and love.  There are three persons in the unity of the Godhead -  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection, but  executing distinct but harmonious office in the great work of redemption.       (John 1:1-2; John 14:7-10; Acts 5:3-4)
